Summary

SpongeBob, the subterranean absorber of water, has swam all the way from US televisions and right into the video games industry with SpongeBob SuperSponge for Game Boy Advance. Venture the depths of Bikini Bottom as you embark on a bizarre quest with the yellow fury critter.

In this particular interactive episode SpongeBob’s generosity leads him to seek an autograph from Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy for his good friend Patrick Star. But the famous duo are resting after a tough morning patrolling the rest home, so SpongeBob must complete several tasks if he is to get those two prized signatures.

Like the cartoon, SpongeBob SuperSponge is an extremely comical game, featuring hilarious dialogue right from the beginning. Your journey will see you navigating several unusual but familiar environments in which you will bump into several well-known SpongeBob characters that will give clues as to your next goal in the game. These non-playable characters include Sandy Cheeks, Mr Krabs and Squidworth. In-game cut scenes are also featured to help progress the story in a visually pleasing way.

SpongeBob SuperSponge is thankfully very similar to its TV counterparts, making it a completely unique experience, at least in terms of theme. It’s challenging, it’s a laugh, and there’s little else a kid could ask of this game.
