Summary

Square Enix has returned to Final Fantasy Tactics, nearly a decade after the original was released on the PSone. This time, the game is making an appearance on Sony's handheld, the PSP, in the form of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War Of The Lions.

The game is an update of the original transferred to the PSP. If you don't remember the original (it's been a while, after all) you control the brave knight Ramza Beoulve and his army of warriors. You're tasked with marching around the land of Ivarice, bringing peace to the troubled kingdom.

The kingdom's presented as a map marked with coloured dots - the locations you'll need to visit on your quest. They range from wet, murky bogs to majestic castles, and you won't have to trudge endlessly around the countryside to get to them. Players can jump instantly between them, meaning there's more time to fight grid-based battles.

As you'd expect, Square Enix hasn't just ported the original straight onto the PSP. A host of new features have been added, including co-op play, versus battles and new story elements. Also thrown in to flesh it out are a series of stylish pencil sketch-style cut-scenes to bring life to Ivarice.
