Summary

You would think that after two rounds of cooking and a stint as a gardener, that Mama would be all out of steam by now. But nope, she's still got a spring in her step and she's back to take over the kitchen once again! This time there are over 80 recipes to get stuck into, and 200 mini-games for each stage of the cooking process.

The classic Cooking Mama gameplay remains, presenting wannabe chefs with culinary tasks that build up to a complete recipe. You can take on this mighty challenge alone, or you can enlist the help of friends! A four player multiplayer mode offers mad cooking fun with your closest pals and rivals - and you only need one Nintendo DS cartridge for play.

On top of the game modes that you're used to from Cooking Mama, this third game features two new ways to play. "What Dish Can You Make" sees you choosing two ingredients from a list and then being tasked with a random recipe that involves them in some way. "Let's Go Shopping" is a more cerebral mode, where Mama asks you to go to the shops and complete her shopping list, avoiding food signs and silly shop assistants along the way.

There's only so much cooking a Mama can do before she starts to get bored, though. Mamas happen to be good at other activities too, such as arts and crafts. The good thing for us creatively-challenged types is that Mama is offering the chance to get involved with all kinds of different hobbies and home activities. All while keeping her cooking apron on though. We're sure it's fine though.

As for the kinds of things you can do in Cooking Mama World: Hobbies & Fun... where do you want to start? Try your hand at pottery, thread needles, arrange and create jewellery and even woodwork and origami.

Following Mama's careful instructions, players use the Nintendo DS touchscreen to interact with objects. Pour mixture into pans and stir before baking hanging ornaments, carefully form a ceramic pot before slamming it in the furnace and then painting it, and engage in some stitchwork before choosing the right arms and legs for a Mama doll.
