Square Enix is making a lot of old men very happy this Xmas-tide (and quite a few women who found Lara Croft to be their gaming role model) by releasing the original game on iOS devices at the very reasonable price of 99 US cents or 69p.
Blessedly in the age of re-imaginings and reboots and twists, Square Enix (owning of Eidos) has not toyed with the mechanics or with our emotions. We've even downloaded the darn thing. Square says the followng:
"We’ve not messed about with it, so it’s the full, unedited, unadulterated experience from the classic release at a super-low price. How better to find out if you’ve still got what it takes to beat a legendary game than by taking on the lost city of Atlantis and the pyramids of Egypt? It’s probably not for the faint of heart!"
