Summary
Plants vs. Zombies is a strange twist on the classic tower defence game. In the standard fare you build defences of differing powers and strengths along a path leading to your castle to defend against attacking hordes. With Plants vs Zombies however, you have to defend your own home using weird and wonderful plants against lots of different types of zombie attackers.
The 48 different kinds of plants at your disposal include ‘peashooters’ (yes, pea pods that shoot) and cherry bombs. The 26 types of zombies attacking you include those that move fast, those that move slowly and even some that can travel under water – therefore getting beneath your lillypad defences.
There are five games modes to get the most out of this battle of good and evil. These are:
Adventure with some 50 levels of its own to make your way through; Puzzle, Survival, the stress-free Zen Garden and, of course, a set of 22 mini-games including Heat Wave, Air Raid, Homerun Derby and BOMB All Together.
Games can be played in both single player and multi-player mode using the DS’s networking abilities – and this includes Download Play whereby you can send a friend a quick skirmish play.
And all of this is comes with the essential fun of making your own zombie with the DS’ Zombatar.
