Summary

The comically sinister Japanese role-playing adventure series returns in Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten. Once more, your journey is set in a Netherworld region and follows the story of former tyrant Valvatorez. He’s now leading a rebellion so that he can overthrow the president of the dark realm. So it’s still a dog eat dog world down there.

Disgaea 4 is graced with massive graphical improvements over its PlayStation 3 predecessor, with big chunky 2D sprites dancing proudly in the colourful isometric landscape. The silly and slightly twisted humour that you’ve come to expect in the series is all present and correct here, and helps make Takehito Harada’s characters come to life.

As Valvatorez, you’re tasked with creating your own political party and engaging in a campaign that’s totally scandalous. Strategic battles abound, the likes of which Disgaea is famous for, only this time around the action is made even more exciting by the all-new map generation mode. You can create and share custom maps with friends over the PlayStation Network and even design your own pirate ship to invade your buddies’ lands with.

You can also add spice to the battle gameplay with the improved grabbing system. You can pile a large number of characters on top of each other and create a ‘tower’ of warriors that will provide increased attack powers to your enemies. Fight your way to the top of the political party polls and rule the Netherworld!
