Er! PS3 hasn't been on sale for 3 weeks yet. The Wii costs £179, the PS3 costs £425 (£399). In other news cans of beans are outselling sirloin steak, cows are angry.
I see, sorry. But as I stated with the PS3 costing around 225% more than Wii, I'm surprised that Wii isn't selling proportionally more, although that may be down to it's limited supply. You could easily twist this story and say PS3 has generating £2.5M more than Wii in it's 3rd week.

Corrected... because they're certainly not making that much more profit than Nintendo.
I heard Nintendo are looking to get a new manufacturer to put Wii's together. Their current one can't make them any faster, hence the shortage we are all experiencing.
We all know PS3 isn't flying off shelves, but give it time. Perhaps things might change. Lol.
Beans are a legume or seed and steak is a meat. The PS3 is a console and the Wii is a console, I think Rutabaga needs a new metaphor. If it costs more it MUST be more fun right?

Nope! I'm happy with the metaphor, they are both food, right? (well not for me I'm veggie :-) I'm not slagging off Wii, I was just replying to the article that stated "Wii is 'pwning' PS3 in the UK" when it's selling (In its 3rd week on sale) 32% less than Wii, yet costs 225% more. I would of thought that Wii would be selling proportionally more than this, but as I said it's probably due to stock shortages.
Does anyone know total UK sales for Wii, 360 & PS3?
... Well PS3 sales could be a lot worse then they (Sony) are admitting. I have a picture on my phone taken earlier today (11th April) of a small video games retailer in the Midlands advertising the PS3 for £389.99. Easter special it said... But then I spoke to the guy working in the shop and he said nobody wants it.
If the price keeps falling at this rate, man I'll get one. Wouldn't mind getting one for free though.
Just because something is cheaper doesn't automatically mean it will vastly outsell a more expensive product, unless it does everything you need it to do. Look at electronics in general, at some point the newer more expensive technology will begin to outsell it's predisesor, but it's at what point people will adopt it that makes things interesting.
The main problem here is that Sony has tried to force the adoption of Blu-ray over HD DVD at the gamers expense, that coupled with their diminishing respect from consumers (rootkit, vaporware, viral marketing, arrogant statements) and it's not the price alone that has led to the poor sales.
P.S. Google "arrogant statements" and Sony is the very first result you will see

Send in the pic and the quote - feedback@spong.com. And tell us what game you're hankering after...
The same could go for everybody else - and not simply about PS3 sales...
This article is biased journalism because instead of focusing on the most successful console sales of the Wii- the Spong article is written as a dig at the PS3.
It is unbelievable that you left out the figures for the Xbox 360. Why? Because if you leave in the 360 sales (11,000) then it paints a different story.
I like Spong, but i dont like this underhand 'journalism.' Is there an editor at Spong brave enough to explain what happened?

Good console, shame it's way too overpriced. Sony are finally being shown that arrogance and bombarding the market just won't work. The PSone succeeded cos the console market was static, it needed something new. The PS2 rode on the back of that success to a great extent, but if Sony truly believed that all PS2 owners would automatically jump on the bandwagon and get a PS3 for a grossly over-inflated price they are finally getting the wake-up call they so badly needed.
I might actually get a PS3... but not until it's down to at least £250.

Hooray! Someone else who can see through the mists of Spong's sometimes "twisted" journalism. Are they the sales for 360 w/e 7th April? If so interesting there was no mention of Wii 'pwning' 360 or PS3 'pwning' 360, eh!
