Although I think the DS market might not be the most friendly towards GTA, I wonder if the less than spectacular (although not really 'bad') sales could be in part due to the name. 'Chinatown Wars' implies that it may only take place in Chinatown, maybe suggesting a smaller world and a cut-down version. Personally, this is what I was expecting when I bought the game, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a full GTA game. I wonder if this could have put some buyers off.
I would probably hazard a guess that Psalms has a good point. Also the fact that people were not expecting a GTA game to ever be on the DS. I don't see how that is a problem as the DS has a lot of good games. I'd say it probably wouldn't have done any better on the PSP.
I will say that I enjoyed Chinatown Wars, but I do think the title is misleading and a fair number of GTA fans probably don't have a DS for whatever reason... which is silly, I mean GTA went to the GBA and all, so it shouldn't have been a total surprise.

I reckon this is going to be a slow but steady seller... rather than the fireworks of GTA IV. We'll track it using 'sources'.
Cheers
