Behind the innocuous title of this game lies something very sinister indeed - alien invasion. Alright, you may have heard it all before, but hang in there, because this is rather a good game.
Set in the near future, Incoming is a strategic adventure shoot 'em up, in which you can take on either the computer or a friend. Whichever you choose, the gameplay is a tough cookie, whether in arcade or campaign mode, and just when you think you can relax a little, the aliens are all around you again. A huge array of weapons and vehicles are at your disposal, on land and in the air. Check out the helicopter for what could pass for motion sickness while looking at your TV screen. Bizarre and totally disorientating, despite the presence of a gorgeous head-up display. So, eminently playable, a game of great depth, Incoming is definitely worth more than a cursory glance.
