Summary

If you’ve ever caught the exciting sport of supercross at some point in the last decade you’ll know exactly who Jeremy McGrath is. The man is a legend in dirt bike racing. If Jeremy’s putting his name to a game you can rest assured it’s going to be good.

Supercross is where powerful 125 and 250cc bikes race around dirt tracks leaping over each other as they hit the bumps and jumps. What Supercross 2000 offers in terms of an update to the series, although it is new to the Dreamcast, is improved graphics, physics and motion. The DC makes easy work of the game engine, the visuals are crisp, hi-res and move at a fast pace. It’s a great feeling, flooring the engine before a jump and taking three of them in one giant bound. The physics model is highly accurate and your bike is subject to all the forces a real bike would encounter.

Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 is fast and furious motorbike racing with ruthless opposition. The two-player mode adds greatly to the re-playability and so does the custom track editor. With the track editor you can make and save your own personal circuits and them race them with your friends.

Other features to make Supercross 2000 stand out are dynamic weather conditions that greatly affect the handling of your bike and change mid-race, and realistic front and rear braking.

The Dreamcast sadly does not have much to offer in terms of Supercross racing, but with Supercross 2000 you don’t really need anything else. Top game.
