Summary

Vigilante 8 is a totally over the top destructo-fest featuring some cooler-than-thou characters and an array of fully battle-prepared seventies muscle cars, camper vans and RV motorhomes. To a soundtrack that resembles some ropey Blaxploitation flick, or a chase scene in an episode of The Streets of San Francisco, these extremely well-dressed hepcats go to battle in a series of destructible arenas around the USA.

Whether you choose the campervan full of killer bees or the school bus that belches toxic fumes, if you disengage you brain, you're guaranteed to have a lot of fun.

It's a tough enough game when playing against the computer, but the real fun begins when you take on a friend in a head to head. The split screen works very well for once, there's a radar in the corner of your screen telling you exactly where to go to combat your opponent, or even drive as far away as possible if you're low on weapons. No matter how violently you throw yourself around the scenery, you can never do as much damage to your vehicle as you can to someone elses.

Vigilante 8 is a lot of (mindless) fun and a really easy game to get to grips with. Most enjoyable.
