Summary

In the middle of the 1980's, a fiendishly addictive puzzle game called Tetris was invented in the former Soviet Union. Alexey Pajitnov, the man behind the game, was a guy with a lifelong love of puzzles, and often programmed games to test new computer equipment. In 1985 he decided to program the traditional puzzle Pentamino in real time. However, positioning five-square blocks in such a manner was far too difficult, so Pajitnov used shapes made up of four-square blocks. A more accessible puzzle game was born and given the name Tetris, derived from the Greek word for 'four'. By the end of the 80's, Tetris had become a massive hit.

Now Pajitnov's creation has returned once again. The Next Tetris is a feature-packed bag of tricks, every bit as colourful, addictive and downright infuriating as you would expect. TNT has all the fast-paced action and strategy of the original game, plus new 3D graphics, wobble blocks, breakaway bricks and special gravity effects, all set to a thumping soundtrack.
