Summary

The video games industry began all the way back in the very early seventies, and there aren’t many games that people will remember for a considerable period of time. The likes of Pong, Tetris, and Breakout will probably be remembered throughout the history of video games. In addition to these classics is the 1981 hit, Frogger. In a now saturated industry, it appears that these classics are coming back to haunt us, only this time they’re in the third dimension.

This remake/sequel to Frogger, cleverly named Frogger 2: Swampy’s Revenge, has been brought up to date, and in 3D for PlayStation. Somehow, Hasbro have managed to give Frogger a new lease on life by incorporating the third dimension into the mechanics of the game, but at the same time, have made the essence of the gameplay faithful to the original. You must move either Frogger, or newcomer Lillie through the many 3D hazards that await them, while constantly keeping a look out for your lost children who have been stolen from Swampy, the evil crocodile.

Younger gamers looking for something new will be too young to remember Frogger, and will probably enjoy the game regardless. Older gamers looking for retro qualities will also find them in Frogger. A great combination to satisfy all audiences.
