Summary

If you’re a true football fan you’ll know the misery and elation football can bring, but do you think that you can handle the stress of being in control? You’ll be singing if you’re winning and facing the fans’ wrath if you’re not. Giant Killers is a footy management sim where you are in charge.

You have the opportunity to manage over 100 Premiership, Football League and Conference teams. Your objectives as manager change, depending on the team that you pick. You can’t be expected to take a team with sloppy players and no budget to the very top of the league. It is possible but it will take time, excellent decisions, good tactics and of course, a lot of luck.

Your management skills will involve picking the right players for your team, transferring, buying and selling players. Additionally you will be responsible for the balancing of your budget, choosing your tactics and deciding your playing style. You will have to adapt your tactics to each team that you play against, so use your head to understand your opponents.

Giant Killers offers a text-based approach to football management. Although you don’t get to see the matches take place, you do have line-by-line commentary telling you everything that is happening in the match. This adds tension and focuses interest in a similar fashion to watching Soccer Saturday with the sound turned down.

Only you know whether football management is your thing, and even if it isn’t, Giant Killers might change your mind.
