3-D Ultra Pinball Turbo Racing - PC

Credit to Sierra for releasing the craziest, most original pinball game in the world. A slight exaggeration perhaps, but a designer must have been up all night when he thought up the concept for this game. I know we’ll mix high-octane NASCAR racing with, erm…Pinball. Surprisingly, it works quite well.

You can choose to play as one of four professional NASCAR drivers including Bobby LaBonte and Bill Elliot, each driver has his unique colours. NASCAR Pinball has three different tables to play on and all can be accessed in the same game. 3-D Pinball follows the conventions of racing by offering a qualifying session, a race and season statistics. Bizarre, but competing against several other drivers/players ups the tension level.

3-D Ultra Pinball plays great, it has the right feel to it. Real life pinball techniques work as they should due to the accurate physics model implemented. Nudges save you from danger, but be careful overuse could tilt the table. There is no better pinball feeling than juggling three balls successfully in multi-ball while racking up huge points.

Originality plus solid gameplay equals excellent pinball simulation.
