The fantasy strategy series Warlords Battlecry returns for a second instalment in 2002 thanks to Ubi Soft and game developers SSG. Players of the genre clearly love to get away from reality for a little while, and Warlords fantasy setting proves to be the perfect getaway from Command and Conquer and its clones.
This all-new adventure takes place in the Realms of Etherial, an originally-named but typical RPG setting. As you begin, you must create your own hero and an equally powerful accompanying party. Players are free to choose from a variety of unique character classes.
Once youre ready to begin this seemingly never-ending adventure, you must go into battle with the nearest and weakest enemy force. Victory results in good old experience points, the odd stash of gold and a plethora of strangely named items. As you progress and become more powerful, you will learn spells, special attacks, and many other techniques that will aid you in your ultimate goal for supremacy over this vast game world.
So whats new in Warlords Battlecry 2? Well basically, its more of the same, just better. There are plenty of brand new environments to roam and become familiar with, not to mention more character classes, more spells, more good guys, more bad guys and an enhanced graphics engine. As long as you can handle the new and improved computer AI and challenging campaigns, you should thoroughly enjoy this PC epic.
