If you're a fan of C4's Countdown, you may have wondered how you would fare in one of the hot seats under time pressure. Well, now you can find out with this new title which follows the TV show's format as closely as possible.
Hosted using sound and video snips of the famous Richard Whiteley, the game offers everything you would expect from the TV show and more, from the famous Countdown clock to the Dictionary Corner where you can view the best words found by the computer.
The game offers three playing options: practice, competition versus the computer and an Internet/Lan challenge between two human players. In practice mode you can choose between single rounds of the letters and numbers games or conundrums. Competition is based on the original half-hour Countdown program and features nine rounds: six letters games, two numbers games and the conundrum.
We guess that’s why the game’s called Countdown. Strangely addictive.
