Summary

Monopoly Party, then. Just how many more twists and turns can the legendary board game take before we break out the battered old Waddingtons box and play it like it used to be played. Well, at least one more twist by the looks of things. Monopoly as a video game or on PC never really got the interactive bit right. Waiting for your hat or boot to move at it's leisurely pace was frankly frustrating. Monopoly Party promises to ixnay on the monotony by letting everyone play at once. Revolutionary, and thanks to the machine taking control, no cheating by moving that extra space!

Monopoly Party retains a familiar play pattern with new game rules and 3D graphics to make the classic game faster, livelier, and more entertaining than ever. The key innovation is same-time play, which allows every player to move at once, so there's never a dull moment. But there are also a few different themes to play around with to make things more interesting, or to tailor the aesthetic to your own whims. If you want to play on another planet, then go there. If you want to surround yourself with prehistoric animals and maybe put some property down on Dinosaur Drive, then you can. Your chosen environments are presented in 3D, like the game board itself.

There's not a lot else we can tell you about Monopoly Party, apart from the fact that this is the first game in the Monopoly family to appear on the Xbox, and therefore looks pretty fine. More accessible than crowding around a PC monitor, Monopoly Party fills a vacant niche very nicely.
