Summary

A pack of four proven games, Big Blue Box is a bargain for Power Mac owners.

Theme Park World enables the players to build and manage their own parks. A simple interface and absolutely stunning graphics allow the player to create, explore, run and discover in a fantasy world of their own creation. You will be helped along the way by the very cool Advisor who will offer up friendly and helpful tips as well as showcasing an amazing variety of headgear. Watch your employees and punters at work and play. Getting thrilled, getting scared, getting bored, getting sick! All human life is here and it’s your job to make sure they stay here and stay happy!

The initial impression of Oni is as a third-person Tomb Raider-style adventure. While this is true for the most part, Oni also incorporates large sections of both stealth and combat-based gameplay. The developer has managed to pack a plethora of controls and manoeuvres into just a few keyboard and mouse options. Your character has the ability to run, dash, sneak, somersault, roll and shoot, among others. What’s more, a training mode has been made easily available to learn and practice your skills with what are already easy to use controls. After beginning the game proper, you will uncover an amazing variety of levels that take you through this challenging and futuristic world. Gameplay is initially reasonably simple, but as you progress you will find yourself forced to use every ounce of agility, strength and stamina you have. You must destroy hordes of robots with a variety of weapons, challenge death-defying jumps and dodge nasty laser beams and sensors.

There’s nothing like coming home after a tough day at the office and subjecting yourself to yet more idiocy and frustration, albeit virtual. But who needs it, honestly? Well, those without power at work will enjoy making the decisions, megalomaniacs will appreciate the ridiculous amounts of money flying around, and people whose idea of visual stimulation is watching grass grow will marvel at what’s on their monitor. Suffice to say that if you’re not a football fan or you have a packed calendar, CM is surplus to requirements. However, those with even the faintest interest in football and the machinations behind it will cherish the Championship Manager experience. All the leagues and competitions from around the world are here, and so are the clubs and players. It’s a huge accomplishment by developer Sports Interactive and the collective flat cap of the veteran manager clique is doffed in their direction once again.

And bringing up the rear, Racing Days R, a 'so-Japanese' car racer. Ho-hum...
