Summary

The latest violent street adventure to hit home consoles puts you in the shoes of a good guy for once, rather than a gangster. As a Narcotics enforcement officer, you are charged with finding the source of a dangerous new designer drug. But the game also deals with an infamous tendency of deep undercover narcotics agents, the temptation that surrounds them at every turn. Based on the controversial 1988 arcade hit of the same name, NARC allows you to choose whether you will play good cop or bad cop in your quest to clean up the streets.

You can choose to play straight and by-the-book, but the omnipresent drugs that surround you might just give you the edge if you take some. Be careful though, because drug habits can get out of control – develop a serious addiction, and not only will you fail to stop the criminal, your career will end in ignominious disgrace.

There are no punches pulled in the dangerous game of bringing perps to justice. The game features violent interrogation scenes and arrest combinations, and you’ll face vandals, thieves and muggers as well as drug lords. Play as disgraced Jack Forzenski, a cop who fell foul of the law after playing too much by his own rules, or as squeaky clean Marcus Hill, none too happy at having his career jeopardised by partner Jack. The atmosphere is all the more authentic with a soundtrack that features exclusive rock, rap and R ‘n’ B tracks that were recorded especially for the game. A further ring of quality is added with Hollywood voice talent from Michael Madsen, Bill Bellamy, Ron Perlman and Michael Wincott.

Make your choice, in the words of the game’s tagline: walk the line or cross it. Use whatever means you feel are necessary to clean up the streets.
