With the Eyetoy phenomenon now in full swing following successful games such as Play and Groove, Konami, like Sega, has decided to join the motion-senor bandwagon with the very aptly-named U-Move Super Sports.
The built around some 15 sporting events, U-Move literally pits players amidst the action as they stand in front of the quirky Eyetoy camera, attempting to score perfect goals, strike a hole-in-one at golf, and physically tackle virtual rugby players. Many of the games are based around real-life sports, but there other games that have players dealing with ball-tossing aliens and sling-shots. It's a great test of reflexes, and the inclusion of several puzzle-based sub-stages brings even more variety to the trials that wait.
All this is made even more competitive through a series of multi-player tournaments in which family and friends can contend for championship status in what is a genuinely entertaining competition mode for up to four players.
Once again, the camera does a good job of bringing the action on-screen in an accurate manner, and the quirky cartoon-like visuals are in keeping with the light-hearted, family-oriented approach seen in every other Eyetoy venture.
U-Move Super Sports is a fine addition to the growing Eyetoy collection, and with the little camera still very much in the limelight, you can expect to see more of U-Move and other Eyetoy games in the coming years.
