Summary

Welcome to the quiet, snowy town of Silent Hill, where all is not what it seems. Especially for desperate father Harry Mason, whose missing daughter sparks an investigation that leads him to this shadowy, mist-shrouded landscape. Evil, misshapen creatures lurk in the darkness, and Mason must battle both his enemies and his psyche if he has any hope of discovering the truth.

But wait a minute, haven't we seen this story somewhere before? Indeed, Shattered Memories shares a lot of plot history with the original Silent Hill game on the PlayStation One. This is a very good thing indeed. This is more than a retread, offering a different angle to what transpired in the past, along with new clues and gameplay paths to challenge seasoned veterans. A brand new soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka will send chills down your spine.

The biggest change in the Wii version is in its use of motion controls. The Remote controller acts as both a torch and a mobile phone, allowing you to become immersed in the action by interacting with the scenery around you.

There's also a new psyche profile mode to the game, which monitors your actions and adapts the gameplay accordingly. By reading elements such as the areas you explore first, the items you examine, and your reaction to those you meet, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will dynamically change various atmosphere elements and other variables to ensure no playthrough is ever the same.
