DiRT 2 - DS/DSi

As we moved from the last generation of home consoles to the current one, the long running and successful Colin McRae Rally series became Colin McRae DiRT. Codemasters saw the opportunity to branch this offshoot from the Colin McRae's Rally series when it became clear that racing fans had a broader range of off-road racing tastes than just the arcade-sim World Rally Championship style of the Codemaster's series. DiRT delivered a thrilling melange of off road racing gameplay styles, but was not available for portable machines.

Colin McRae DiRT 2 has addressed this, with a version specially coded for the Nintendo DS. The game offers similar off road racing thrills to its console brethren, but tuned for quick fire play on the move with a series of stunt challenges and an arcade mode. There's the World Tour mode for players to get their teeth into, with 40 events to beat ranging from Iceland to Japan, from London to LA. All of these can be raced in a selection of off-road vehicles ranging from the legendary Subaru Impreze WRX StTi to the awesome Cincaird Ford F150 - there's even a Hummer H3 in there too!

DS DiRT has a powerful track editor to enable users to create their own circuit and point-to-point courses using their DS stylus. And once you have created a track, you can share it with your friends over local Wi-Fi. Create your own championships for four players, and compete with up to six cars on track in on-line multi-player. Or take on your friends in wireless multi-player, using just one cartridge to race with up to four players.

DiRT 2 has fun vehicle customisation features too, unlock different stamps and stickers, or use your stylus to create you own. DiRT 2 is one of the most comprehensive off road racing games ever created for the DS. more
