Summary

Sega's Phantasy Star series of RPGs has a rich history on multiple platforms. Once a story-driven, single-player adventure series, the release of Phantasy Star Online changed that into an experience that Dreamcast players could enjoy with others over the internet. That mission-based gameplay structure has been the backbone of the series since then, with Phantasy Star Portable taking the franchise to the PSP.

Now with Phantasy Star Portable 2, players will get to explore a deep storyline that takes place three years after the events of Phantasy Star Universe saga. The alien menace that was the Seed has now been defeated. But there is a humanitarian problem as the people of the Gurhal System now face dwindling resources. Once again taking the role of a Hunter-for-hire, players will get the chance to investigate the many colourful locations of the galaxy to help solve the growing crisis.

Missions can be tackled alone, or with friends; as with the game's predecessor, you can link with multiple PSPs in an ad-hoc mode to complete quests together, but now in Phantasy Star Portable 2 you can take the wireless range further with a full online multiplayer mode. Meet new friends, level up together, and experience the new combat system and character customisation options that make this the most extensive entry to the series yet.
