Summary
Why should the adults get all the dancing fun? Buoyed by the success of Just Dance, Ubisoft has created a music rhythm game specially for children. Dance Juniors is colourful, active and cheerful - it’s almost like being inside your very own interactive Children’s BBC programme. If that programme involved professional choreographers bouncing around to chart-topping singles, that is.
It’s not just the latest and greatest pop songs that have made the cut. In the Dance Juniors Wii song list you’ll also find hits from classic TV shows like Yo Gabba Gabba and The Wiggles. All of the chart songs have been re-recorded by kids too, so they can totally relate to the music. A four-player multiplayer mode allows for friends and family to join in the fun, and select songs from four different playlists categories: Animal, Party, Funny and Vacation. If none of those take your fancy, make your own customised one instead.
Throw in a parents mode for adults to track their kids’ progress, a ‘shake or freeze’ gameplay mechanic to allow players to earn major points, and a team high score mode and Dance Juniors could be the best party you could throw for your little ones. Along with TV show songs and public domain tracks such as Old MacDonald Had A Farm, Pop Goes the Weasel and Wheels on the Bus, the songs on Dance Juniors Wii includes a number of licensed tracks:
