Who likes a little bit of environmental sensitivity with their real-time strategy games? Well, youre in luck, as Greed Corp is rooted right into the rich and colourful Mistbound universe - set in a world of feudal warfare and industrial consumption thats killing the planet! Like most RTS games, your aim as one of four warring factions is to conquer the world... but will there be anything left to rule once youre crowned overlord?
This is where the environmental bit comes in, as the planet is extremely touchy with all the industrial gubbins you decide to slap onto it. You have to find a delicate balance between establishing the minerals and materials needed to further your quest for domination, while also preserving the land to ensure it doesnt die by your hand.
If an enemy invades your land and things are looking grim, do you use up resources to defend it to the end, or waste the land and make it virtually useless for the both of you? Its these curious situations that make Greed Corp stand out from the rest of the RTS crowd.
The game features a unique land-collapsing mechanic that allows you to determine how healthy the land of an area is. You can choose to defeat your enemy by traditional means, or by nuking the land he stands on and simply carry on with another piece of land. But make sure you have enough land to actually make it worth your while at the end!
