Summary

Prepare your Personas! This time, the legendary Japanese RPG turns into a side-scrolling fighter, with familiar faces from Persona 3 and 4 appearing to duke it out in the TV world’s Midnight Arena. Chie, Yosuke, Aigis, Teddie - they’re all here, ready and waiting to find the person responsible for trapping them in this strange and mystical dimension.

Developed by Arc System Works, the same studio behind the cult modern classic BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena contains beautifully detailed anime-style environments, with fantastic HUD and menu presentation. Each character has their own unique set of moves, along with an individual backstory that takes them through the mystery of the world around them.

But don’t mistake this as a spinoff. Atlus and Arc System Works designed this as a bona fide sequel to the events of Persona 4. Set two months after that storyline, the action begins when Teddie disappears from his residence in Inaba. Suddenly, his friends find him participating in a tournament called the “P-1 Grand Prix”, in a test to see who is the “Ultimate Persona User”. When the Persona 4 gang jump into the tournament to help him, they unwittingly pit themselves against one another - meaning the only way to discover the true meaning of what’s going on, is to fight their closest friends.
