Summary

World War II might not have been the first Great War, but it certainly took things - literally - to new heights. As the skies were dominated by men piloting metal warbirds, so the oceans were dominated by titanic ships that bore them to their theatres of war. Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers is the story of the pilots that rode those ships into the Pacific Ocean and took to the skies to defend their nations.

The game is an 'arcade flight simulation', delivering players right into the heat of the action. An unusual addition to the formula is the ability to switch plane mid-mission, offering a unique perspective on the combat. This brings a unique element of strategy to proceedings. Playable battles include the Battle of Midway, Pearl Harbour and the Wake Island Raids.

Each of the 13 planes has been meticulously recreated to give them all their own distinct feel, not to mention a high level of historical accuracy.

Players can take the action online and get into some serious dogfights with other players. New to the Air Conflicts series is a 'Sink the Carrier' mode in which pilots must defend their own ocean-going base while trying to simultaneously take out their opponent's. Strategy is the key to survival.

It's time to take to the skies!
