Summary

The Princess Guide is the sort of tasty game stew you get when you mix together a JRPG, a beat 'em up and a board game, then season it with a light-hearted story.

You take on the role of a veteran knight who, tired of soldiering, decides to change tack and start training fiery princesses in the art of war as a new evil rises.

You can take on the training of the dragon princess Alpana, the vengeful Veronica, the chivalrous Monomaria or the gluttonous Liliartie, and while you're not locked into one choice the different princesses do impact the game in different ways, as do the decisions you make such as whether to praise or scold your trainees.

Although the combat plays like a beat 'em up, you won't be able to button-mash your way to victory. If you try it, sooner or later you'll hit a fearsome difficulty spike. Rather, you'll need to draw on every resource at your disposal. You can choose units to join the fight with you, but you should choose carefully. One might only have short range attacks but be good at crowd control, so you'll need to balance them out with a unit that's strong on ranged attacks, for example.

Get ready - your happily ever after depends not on handsome princes but on fearsome princesses!
