Hothouse Creations came into this world in 1996, releasing its first title, Gangsters: Organized Crime, at the end of 1998. Within the next year the company released Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas and Abomination: The Nemesis Project. Hothouse has since diversified into producing licensed titles based on popular TV products, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Sky Sports Football Quiz, and American Idols / Pop Idol.
Known as one of Europe's leading developers, working with publishers such as Eidos, THQ and Konami, the company was acquired by ZOO Digital in March 2004. Hothouse continued as a company operating within the ZOO group for another three years, but was ultimately dissolved in 2007. A year later, ZOO itself was acquired by GreenScreen Interactive.
Hothouse's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1998 title, "Gangsters: Organised Crime" (PC).
The company has been involved titles released on the PC, PS2, Power Mac, GBA, PlayStation and Dreamcast. Of these, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" (PC), "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" (PlayStation), "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" (Dreamcast), "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? 2nd Edition" (PC) and "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? 2nd Edition" (PlayStation) have been best selling titles.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2005 release "Crime Life: Gang Wars" (PS2).
