Red Storm Entertainment Inc. was established in November of 1996, but the roots of the company go back further than that.
In 1985, Tom Clancy approached Doug Littlejohns, a Royal Navy captain for technical advise on a novel he was writing. That novel became the best selling book Red Storm Rising.
Twelve years later, when Mr. Clancy decided to get into multimedia and games development, he again turned to captain Littlejohns for advice, this time as CEO and President of Red Storm Entertainment.
Red Storm's first game, Politika, based on one of Tom Clancy's books, was released in 1997, but it was with their second game, Rainbow Six, that Red Storm hit the limelight.
In 2000, Red Storm will release a game based on the books of Anne McCaffrey, continuing their trend of games based on best-selling books.
